The Indianapolis Museum of Art welcomes visitors to the Clowes Pavilion, newly reimagined after a multi-year renovation, 50 years after its inaugural opening date.

Embodied: Human Figures in Art

This exhibition features works from four continents that span nearly 4,000 years, and through themes including power, beauty, identity, gender, and remembrance, examines how representations of people in art allow us to explore what it means to be human.

Air Plant and Orchid Wreath Class

6–8 PM | Madeline F. Elder Greenhouse at Newfields

Get your spring off to a fresh start! Create a whimsical air plant wreath with a mini orchid for a pop of color. While you work, you'll learn all about the various types of these fun, easy-to-grow plants with Sandy Schipp, greenhouse assistant. You'll leave with the confidence to care for your wreath at home.

This colorful season of growth brings families together to celebrate traditions—birthdays, holidays, festivals, or simply a walk to enjoy a favorite spring spot.

Nearly 1,000 community members voted online for their favorite works on paper over the summer, and then our exhibition team collaborated with students from Indianapolis Public Schools and Herron School of Art and Design to inspect the top choices, finalize a selection, and record thoughts for the object labels.
