The Indianapolis Museum of Art welcomes visitors to the Clowes Pavilion, newly reimagined after a multi-year renovation, 50 years after its inaugural opening date.

Embodied: Human Figures in Art 

This exhibition features works from four continents that span nearly 4,000 years, and through themes including power, beauty, identity, gender, and remembrance, examines how representations of people in art allow us to explore what it means to be human.

The Message is the Medium: Contemporary Art Opening Celebration

You’re invited to the opening evening of the long-awaited contemporary exhibition The Message is the Medium: Contemporary Art. Be one of the first to welcome back several of the most beloved works from the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s collection including Robert Rauschenberg’s Sling Shots Lit #3, James Turrell’s Acton, and Nam June Paik’s recently conserved Who’s Your Tree. Exciting new acquisitions will join old favorites including a textile piece by April Bey titled Atlantican Archives: A Group of Beyoncés Founded Earth Feminism created using digital printing techniques.  Celebrate with music by Deckidemics DJs, light passed appetizers, and a cash bar.
