USPS Christmas Stamp Dedication

USPS Christmas Stamp Dedication
11:15 AM – 1:30 PM

Be a part of history with a momentous occasion at Newfields as we commemorate the unveiling of the 2024 USPS Christmas Stamp featuring the painting Madonna and Child from the Workshop of Sassoferrato (Italian, 1609-1685) from the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s permanent collection.

This ceremony will include insightful remarks about the selection process, inspiration, and significance behind the stamp. Hear from the Melvin & Bren Simon Director of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Belinda Tate, as well as Jay Bigalke from Linn’s Stamp News, Christi Johnson-Kennedy from USPS, and Roxy Sperber and Sadie Arft from Newfields’ Conservation and Curatorial departments.

Guests can enjoy light refreshments and coffee, as well as a performance from the Indy Baroque Orchestra featuring Tom Gerber on the Shortridge Harpsichord and Artistic Director Barthold Kuijken on the flute.

Interested in purchasing the stamp? USPS will have the Christmas stamp available for purchase on-site, as well as other themed items available from Newfields.
