My Neighbor Totoro illustrates the journey of two sisters, Satsuki (Dakota Fanning) and Mei (Elle Fanning), as they move to the countryside to be closer to their hospital-bound mother. While exploring their new surroundings, the sisters encounter a mystical forest spirit called Totoro (Frank Welker). With the help of Totoro and his friends, the sisters navigate their way through the challenges of growing up, including illness, and the loss of a loved one. Through their magical adventures, the sisters come to understand the power of hope and imagination.
