The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park at Newfields
Free for members and public / Advance registration required

ON FOOT

Noon–2 PM / No tickets required / No waivers necessary

We will focus on the shores and floodplain of the White River in and around Fairbanks Park from noon to 2 PM. Meet at the new environmentally friendly parking lot at The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. We will fill a dumpster with objects illegally dumped under the 38th street bridge and debris washed up along the river by spring floods. Bring your boots, buckets, and picker if you have one. Gloves, trash bags, and light refreshments will be provided.

PADDLERS

Noon–5 PM / Waiver required through Frank’s Livery

Clean up by kayak! Paddlers will focus on cleaning up the shores of The White River from Newfields to The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis—a 1.5-mile stretch down river. Meet at the new environmentally friendly parking lot at The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. You will be shuttled back here at the end of the day. Paddlers must sign a waiver from Frank’s Livery to participate.

Waiver

Newfields will be open from 11 AM – 5 PM on Thursday, July 4, in celebration of Independence Day and Free First Thursday. This is going to be a busy day! We highly recommend you reserve your tickets in advance as we expect to sell out.
