Wee Wonders

11 AM–Noon

Join us for an art adventure in the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. Participants and their grown-ups will sing songs, go on an art hunt, read a story, and make art. Wee Wonders is a fun-filled class specially designed for children ages three to five and their caregivers; younger siblings are welcome. Adults and children under one who are not participating in the craft can attend for free but will still need to register. Lessons change weekly. Not ready for your adventure to end? Ticket prices include General Admission so you can continue exploring on your own after Wee Wonders. If you have questions, please email weeWednesdays@discovernewfields.org.

December 20 | Silver & Gold 

Silver shine and golden sparkle everywhere you look in this month’s artwork exploring the shiniest items in the IMA Galleries. Create your own shimmering artwork and read about a fish with very glittery scales.

January 10, 17, 31 | Children 

What do children wear? What do they play with? Participants will explore the IMA Galleries, look at artwork, and read fun books like Do Superheroes Have Teddy Bears? The crafts will explore many mediums of art and relate directly to the artwork and book.

February 7, 14, 21, 28 | Tools 

What are tools? Farm, garden, and music, there are so many types of tools to explore. Read about being creators of buildings, music, and gardens, and the tools used to create. Then, step into the art studio and create your own unique tools.

February 8 (Special Weekend Edition) | Instruments 

March 7, 14, 21, 28 | Hats 

One hat, two hat, red hat, blue hat. So many fun and funky hats to see in the IMA Galleries! Read about characters with fun hats like Cat in the Hat. Then, create your own unique and funky hats using a variety of materials.
