StoryWalk Grand Opening

Join us in the Stout Reference Library in the Museum for the grand opening and celebration of the Wake Up, Woods StoryWalk installed in The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. Author of Wake Up, Woods and former State Botanist Mike Homoya and poet Shane Gibson will be here for a book reading and signing.    

StoryWalk promotes literacy, physical activity, and family time in nature. Newfields and The Indianapolis Public Library partnered to bring the pages of Mike Homoya’s children’s book, Wake Up, Woods, to weather-resistant panels along a short path in The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. This spring, the Indiana Native Plant Society will plant the native plants, which were funded by the Indianapolis Garden Club, that appear in the pages of the book and in the ground surrounding each stop on the StoryWalk.
