Witness the stories of Juneteenth’s origins from descendants of those present in 1865 Galveston, Texas, when Union Army troops announced General Order Number 3—that all enslaved people were now free. This documentary film features stories about Juneteenth as told by prominent Galveston County community members and family members of the people who were there in 1865. Galveston is the birthplace of Juneteenth. Learn some of the stories before, on, and after June 19, 1865. This is Juneteenth the Galveston Story. 

Join us after the film for a panel discussion led by Sam Collins III, film producer, with Dr. Olon Dotson, Associate Professor of Architecture at Ball State University and member of Indiana Landmarks Board of Directors.
