Slow Down Sundays: Black History Month

Slow Down Sundays: Black History Month
Museum Hours

“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”  - Audre Lorde

Step into the IMA Galleries every Sunday in February and slow down. “Slow Art” is a movement to encourage us all to look at art a little longer, not only to see more, but also to know the works in greater detail without being an expert. Unlock your inner art lover. Visit recommended art selections or choose your own pieces. The day will also feature a variety of activities to encourage longer looks and deepen connections with the collection—including a curated playlist from artist and musician Joshua Thompson, reading selections by Natalie Pipkin of Black Worldschoolers, and more.
