Presentation and Book Signing with Kathleen Langone

Join freelance writer and historical researcher Kathleen Langone for a presentation about her newly released book, The Miniature Painter Revealed: Amalia Kussner’s Gilded Age Pursuit of Fame and Fortune. Langone will examine the complex portrait of Hoosier artist Amalia Kussner, from her early years in Terre Haute through her adult life when she gained notoriety during the Gilded Age. You’ll also learn more about the miniature portraits in the Newfields collection and how the "new" style of miniatures occurred with the revival of this art form. 

 

The lecture will begin at 1 PM followed by a Q&A and book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
