Toula Portokalos is thirty-something and working in her family’s Greek restaurant in Chicago. All her dad wants if for Toula to get married to a nice Greek boy and make babies, but Toula has other plans. When she meets someone special, and he’s not Greek—her family is shocked. Starring as Toula, screenwriter Nia Vardalos presents this lively comedy about acceptance and the strength of the matriarchy.
