Member Talk: Conserving Pissarro, Pissarro, and Pissarro
6 PM
Thanks to a generous grant from the Kress Foundation, the Indianapolis Museum of Art is working on an ongoing project to research and conserve the seven paintings in the collection by Camille Pissarro and his sons Lucien and George. The study’s goals include characterizing the artistic techniques used by the Pissarro trio; and tracing the evolution of Camille’s technique as he moved from Impressionism into experimentation with Neo-Impressionism, in comparison to the technique of his two sons. Join Kress Fellow Alex Chipkin to learn about the project and how instrumental analysis is being conducted within the IMA’s state-of-the-art Conservation Science Laboratory.
