Member Appreciation Month: Member Lecture Talk with John Teramoto
6 p.m.
Join John Teramoto, curator of Asian art, for a lecture on 47 Rōnin, one of the most widely-known historical tales in Japan. The exhibition tells the story of a group of samurai who successfully attacked the villa of an important government official to avenge the death of their lord. Using woodblock prints from the IMA collection to illustrate the main and side stories, Teramoto will explore why this tale of murder and vengeance remains so popular.
