Meet Me at Newfields Tour: Early-Stage Alzheimer’s Tour
Meet Me at Newfields is a partnership program with the Alzheimer’s Association. The program is designed for individuals with early-stage Alzheimer’s or dementia and their care partner, family member or a friend. Our tours provide an opportunity to participate in a facilitated conversation of artworks from the IMA collection led by trained IMA docents. Art appreciation and social opportunities help enhance the relationship between persons with a dementia diagnosis and care partners, as well as providing an opportunity to develop new relationships with fellow participants. Engaging with art through conversation helps nurture self-esteem and elevates overall mood.
The Alzheimer’s Association is passionate about building relationships with other partners in the arts community and engaging new families who are facing early-stage Alzheimer’s and dementia. Meet Me at Newfields is sponsored by the Klapper Family Foundation through the Alzheimer’s Association.
