In the second installment of Wodehouse's Blanding Castle series, the eccentric Psmith infiltrates the chaotic and hilarious characters who live in the Castle of Blandings. A tale of romance, missing jewels, and a many flower pots, this is Wodehouse at his most hilarious.  

 

Come prepared to discuss the novel and enjoy light snacks and beverages.

Botanical Book Club: Double Feature Black Orchids and The Potted Gardener

Dive into Black Orchids, a novel from Rex Stout's Nero Wolfe Series where we will discuss the world of Nero Wolfe, a famous detective in New York City with a roof top greenhouse filled with thousands of orchids. Wolfe and his hilarious sidekick, Archie, untangle a flower show murder. Then we will crack into the second book, The Potted Gardener: An Agatha Raisin Mystery by M.C. Beaton featuring a London PR Manager who retires to the Cotswolds fearing boredom and instead finds herself entangled in a series of murders, this one a beautiful neighbor is murdered on the eve of the village garden show. 

Newfields will be closed from January 20-26 for Rest & Refresh and will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, January 28. The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park is always open from dawn to dusk. Rest & Refresh is a moment to reset after a busy holiday season and prepare to welcome guests back to Newfields for a transformational spring.
