The documentary Walls of Respect honors the life and work of Norman Parish, Jr., the artist and groundbreaking gallerist in Georgetown, DC, who showcased African American artists in the 1990s and through the 2010s. Join Norman Parish III, the artists’ son and film’s Associate Producer, as we explore Parish's artistic legacy through interviews with past exhibitors, family, friends, collectors, and art professionals, and describes Parish’s impact on artists and DC’s arts culture. The film will be introduced by Norman Parish III and there will be a post-film Q&A with him as well.
