Encanto
Encanto offers so much beauty. Beauty lives in the animation, in the story and how it unfolds, in the characters so relatable we can forget they possess actual magical powers. Focusing on the essential, however, unmagical Mirabel (voiced by Stephanie Beatriz), the story forges a link between generational trauma and the resilient hope the future can hold when community shows up for one another. In between catchy songs and dance sequences that capture a multitude of different cultures present in Colombia, Encanto illuminates the humble inner workings and politics of The Family Madrigal.
