Newfields 140th Annual Members' Meeting & Reception

Newfields 140th Annual Members' Meeting & Reception
5:30 PM / Reception at 6:30 PM

We invite you to join us as we reflect on our history and look forward to another 140 years of enriching lives through art and nature. Join Newfields President & CEO Dr. Colette Pierce Burnette as she shares a year-end report on the many facets of Newfields. Hear the latest news about recent acquisitions, exciting events, and upcoming exhibitions, along with institutional milestones and the announcement of newly elected board and committee members.

In May 1883, a group of Indianapolis citizens, led by educator and activist May Wright Sewall, formed the Art Association of Indianapolis with the goal “to cultivate and advance Art in all its branches.” Over the past 140 years the organization has experienced many changes—from moving locations to increasing programming and expanding art and horticultural collections. At the heart of these changes is the organization’s commitment to May Wright Sewall’s legacy of forward thinking around education, equality, social reform, and art and culture.

After the meeting, celebrate with live music, hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar.

Advanced Registration is required for this free event. “Know Before You Go” instructions will be sent Thursday, May 11.
