A Call to Arms: Chinese Armorial Porcelain for the European and American Markets

In the seventeenth and eighteenth century, Asian export ceramics were used to create grand and lavish interiors in European stately homes and palaces. These displays served both political and decorative functions. Join AAS for a lecture by Ron Fuchs, who will share his expertise on the significance and beauty of these objects, followed by coffee, dessert, and conversation. Ron Fuchs, Curator of Ceramics and Manager of the Reeves Center at Washington & Lee University, was previously at Winterthur, and currently chairs the American Ceramic Circle.  This event is open to the public.
