The summer is flying by, and we’ve been celebrating 50 Films for 50 Years (National Bank of Indianapolis Summer Nights Film Series at Newfields) still on through August 29. Since 1976, we’ve now hosted half a century of timeless classics, fan faves, and hidden gems under the stars.
Watch the sun set and catch a film in The Amphitheater for Indy’s favorite summer tradition. On Thursday, August 6 we'll feature Top Hat with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers—one of the original films featured in our 1976 season.
Close your eyes and imagine that August night back in 1976: “A limousine was lent to us and drove up on the stage and the night’s MC for the event, got out—a very young David Letterman—who did a splendid job and would soon be on his way to great fame. It was a great kick off for this program which I am delighted to see is still going strong after 50 years,” our former Director Robert Yassin recalled.
Now you can be a part of this great story. Gather your friends and family and experience timeless classics and hidden gems paired with a short film before each screening. While tickets last.
