A Surreal Journey Through Dalí's Imagination

THE LUME Indianapolis featuring Dalí Alive

THE LUME Indianapolis featuring Dalí Alive
Museum Hours

Make no illusion. Salvador Dalí’s mesmerizing works adorn THE LUME Indianapolis on Floor 4 of the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. The Spanish artist is known for his surreal dreamscapes of melting clocks and fascinating creatures. Fluttering butterflies envelop guests who step into Dalí’s wild and wonderful worlds.

Mystery and discovery abound. Let your imagination run wild in the renewed activity space titled Let’s Get Surreal. Artificial intelligence transforms your written word into a two-dimensional masterpiece.

The exhibition showcases four large, vibrant watercolor paintings by Salvador Dalí from the IMA’s permanent collection. The paintings were originally designed for the opera, The Spanish Lady and the Roman Cavalier. The pieces are making their first collective museum appearance since 1979.

THE LUME Indianapolis featuring Dalí Alive features brand-new digital content in all three digital gallery spaces. Additionally, the new café concept, El Mercado Surreal, boasts a selection of Spanish-inspired small bites by Newfields’ culinary team. You’re able to daydream while you sip Spanish brews and refreshing cocktails.
