Artist Panel: The Truth of Freedom: Resilience Redefined
Join us for a powerful Juneteenth artist panel featuring Indianapolis artists Angelita Hampton, Dana Powell-Smith, Kat Fitzpatrick, and D. Del Riverda-Jennings. As part of Truth of Freedom: Resilience Redefined, this conversation explores the legacy of the Black Arts Movement and how art becomes a force for healing, justice, and change.
The Truth of Freedom: Resilience Redefined
Juneteenth commemorates the delayed arrival of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1865—more than two years after it was signed—marking a defining moment in the ongoing pursuit of liberty and justice in the United States. The Truth of Freedom honors this national holiday by celebrating the enduring quest for equity through the lens of artistic expression. Now in its fourth year, the exhibition series has featured nearly 60 participating Indiana artists.
