Nominate Your Giant

Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys is open at Newfields through February 28, 2027. “Giants” refers to several aspects of the Dean Collection: the renown of legendary artists, the impact of canon-expanding contemporary artists, and the monumental works by such creators as Derrick Adams, Arthur Jafa, and Meleko Mokgosi. The collection spans multiple generations, invites examinations of the links between the artists, and encourages "giant conversations" inspired by the works on view—critiquing society and celebrating Blackness.

We invite you to nominate your personal “Giant.” This can be a teacher, neighbor, community leader, family member, or anyone in your life who has made a giant impact and holds a giant presence. Newfields leadership will recognize five community giants near the end of the exhibition.
