The Giant – Cheesecake milkshake with a fudge-dipped rim, graham cracker crumble, strawberry syrup, whipped cream, cherry and an entire slice of New York cheesecake

Now open on the second floor of the Efroymson Family Entrance Pavilion, The Palette is serving up top tier treats. From over-the-top milkshakes and homemade cookies to decadent cheesecake and delicious dirty sodas, there's something for everyone at this one stop shop. 

Themed around the classic American diner and soda shops of the early 1900s, The Palette blends kitsch and class through fun decor and a bespoke menu. The standout item is "The Giant." The shake begins with a few heaping scoops of ice cream, then a slice of New York cheesecake is added to the base and blitzed to silky smooth perfection. The rich milkshake finds its home in a fudge and graham cracker rimmed glass with a strawberry syrup drizzle. Then for garnish, our culinary staff throws on a second slice of cheesecake, whipped cream, and the classic maraschino cherry.

The delights don't end there. Enjoy one of our many dirty soda flavors for that refreshing pick-me-up between walks in The Garden and IMA Galleries. Older guests can unwind with a boozy version of our delicious drinks. Add a shot of whisky to a milkshake or a dirty soda, and relax before venturing off for a day steeped in art and nature. Or, in true diner style, get your caffeine fix with drip coffee from local favorite Tinker Coffee Co. 

Recently featured on FOX59’s Where Is Sherman?, The Palette is truly something special. On Thursday, October 29, the titular reporter paid a visit to Newfields to check out the offerings for himself. During his visit he sampled the menu and even tried his hand at mixing up "The Giant." He loved the sumptuous shake, giving it the Sherman stamp of approval. 

Open Thursday to Sunday from 11 AM–4 PM, The Palette is the perfect place to enjoy a bite with friends and family or to kick back and relax as you make your way through the wonders that Newfields has to offer.
