Fashion, History, and a Final Look at BODY / BEYOND
Join fashion historian and founder of The Art of Dress, Cassidy Zachary, and Newfields curator Michael Vetter, PhD, for an engaging conversation celebrating BODY / BEYOND: Fashion That Transforms before the exhibition closes. Together, they’ll share insights and explore objects and stories from the exhibition and Newfields collection, considering the ways fashion reflects identity, culture, and society. The conversation will conclude with an audience Q&A.

Cassidy Zachary
Cassidy Zachary is a New Mexico-based fashion historian and content creator. A co-host of the recently concluded Dressed: The History of Fashion podcast, she is also the founder of the popular social media and educational platform The Art of Dress where she shares her passion for fashion history with a community of over 500,000 like-minded individuals from around the world.
Michael Vetter, PhD
Michael Vetter, PhD, is Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. In this role, he oversees the IMA’s contemporary art collection of more than 900 works, as well as the contemporary sculpture installed throughout The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. His curatorial work focuses on developing new ways for audiences to engage with contemporary art and creating fresh narratives around the artists and works in Newfields’ collection.
Before joining Newfields, Vetter served as curator at the University of Maryland Art Gallery and was a member of the curatorial team at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. He holds a master’s degree and doctorate in art history from the University of Maryland, College Park.
