Black Art Market
Join us for the second annual Black Art Market at Newfields. This one-day event on Saturday, August 16 showcases art by local artists of all mediums, provides economic opportunities, fosters community connections, promotes diversity and equity in the arts, and develops the Indianapolis cultural arts scene. Founded by local artist and Newfields guest curator, Angelita Hampton, Black Art Market is an extension of Newfields’ annual Juneteenth exhibition, The Truth of Freedom.
Grab a bite from one of the food trucks and shop among 30 local vendors while music fills the air. Artists will offer demonstrations and classes throughout the day. This event is free and does not include admission to the Museum.
