The Flower & Vegetable Garden
Opening Fall 2026
The new Flower & Vegetable Garden will reimagine and restore the heart of The Garden at Newfields by recreating a vital piece of the historic and self-sustaining Oldfields estate into a vibrant and dynamic space for growth, learning, and engagement. This beautiful and functional garden will feature:
Four-season dazzling array of color, texture, and height that will surprise and delight.
A flexible-use pavilion that will double our current capacity for Garden-based interactive programs and foster direct engagement for educational and public programs like gardening, nutritional instruction, and horticulture therapy.
A culinary hub that will utilize edible garden produce and flowers to enhance Newfields' menus, cooking and mixology classes, demonstrations, and food artistry.
Accessible restrooms to serve Newfields guests and program participants.
And, eventually, seasonal produce to support local food pantries and community kitchens.
RAS Landscape Architects designed this important space, after successful projects with Chanticleer, Delaware Botanic Gardens, and PHS at Drexel Gateway.
Shiel Sexton is managing the construction after recent success with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, Elanco Global Headquarters and Commission Row.
