Through a partnership with St. Mary’s Child Center, Newfields offers an on-campus preschool for children ages 3 to 5.
Anchored in Reggio Emilia inspired teaching, daily the children experience original works of art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art; explore The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park: 100 Acres, historic Lilly House, Madeline F. Elder Greenhouse, and The Garden; and work on projects inspired by their environment.
The St. Mary’s Child Center at Newfields Preschool is a half-day preschool that offers a five-day program, three-day program, or two-day program from 9 - 11:30 am for the school year (August – May). The low child to adult ratio (6:1) provides personal attention to ensure optimal social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the child.
St. Mary’s Child Center, well known for providing the highest quality early childhood education available in our community, provides program oversight and administration, teaching staff, and a curriculum following the Reggio Emilia approach, which uses art and nature-focused experiences and emphasizes collaboration, critical learning, and expression. Visit smccindy.org to learn more about St. Mary’s Child Center.
As the host institution, Newfields offers classroom space and access to the entire campus. Newfields also provides free memberships to students and their families for one year, allowing them to extend their educational experience outside of classroom hours.
Enrollment inquiries for the 2018 – 2019 school year are currently being accepted.
Enrollment remains open throughout the year if space is available.
To inquire about enrollment, an online enrollment inquiry form must be completed. Newfields staff will contact families within 2 working days of completion of the form.
